Lip filler in Winter Park
One syringe of hyaluronic acid gel, placed to give shape back rather than to add size. It is the most searched treatment in this category and the one people are most embarrassed to say out loud, so here is the whole thing written down.
What it actually addresses
Lips lose volume and definition slowly from the late twenties, and the change is usually in shape before it is in size: the border softens, the little peaks of the cupid’s bow flatten, the corners start to turn down, and the upper lip rolls inward when you smile. Filler puts the edge and the support back.
It is also used for a lip that has always been thinner on one side, which is extremely common and almost never noticed by anybody except the person who owns it.
What it will not fix are the fine vertical lines above the lip that come from sun and years. Those are a skin problem, not a volume problem, and the honest route is peels or microneedling instead.
How it works
Hyaluronic acid is a sugar your body already makes and already keeps in your skin. The gel version is cross linked so it holds a shape, and it is placed in small amounts in specific spots rather than pushed in as one lump.
Your lips are numbed with a topical for twenty minutes first, and the gel itself contains a local anaesthetic, so most of the appointment is more comfortable than the reputation suggests. Camille uses a needle for the border and a blunt cannula for the body of the lip, which is slower and bruises less.
One syringe is usually enough
The look everybody is afraid of is almost never one syringe. It is the fourth syringe in eighteen months, added a little at a time by somebody who was never looking at the whole face at once. Northlight places one, photographs it at two weeks, and then leaves it alone unless you come back and ask.
There is no two syringe package here and no discount for buying more at once, because a discount for volume is a reason to use volume. If half a syringe is the right answer for you, Camille will place half and charge you half.
What the two weeks after look like
- Day 0
- Swollen and firm within an hour. This is the day people panic. Ice, sleep propped up, and do not judge anything yet.
- Day 2
- Usually the worst of it. About one person in four has a bruise at the border, which covers with lipstick.
- Day 5
- Most of the swelling has gone. The shape is roughly what it is going to be.
- Day 14
- Settled and photographed in the north window at your free follow up. If it needs a small adjustment, this is when it happens.
- Month 9 to 12
- Gone, gradually, without a moment where it looks strange. Most people come back at about a year, and some do not come back at all.
Price, and what happens if you hate it
$750 a syringe. That is the whole cost of a first appointment, including the numbing, the two week follow up and the photographs.
Hyaluronic acid filler can be dissolved. An enzyme called hyaluronidase removes it in one appointment and your lips go back to exactly where they started. If Camille placed it, dissolving it is free. If it was placed somewhere else, it is $250, and she will still do it.

Will people be able to tell?
They will notice that you look well and they will not be able to say why. That is the aim of one syringe placed on the border and in the body of the lip rather than out toward the front.
If you want an obvious change, Camille will tell you honestly whether your lip can carry it, and in a lot of cases the answer is that it cannot without looking like work. She would rather lose the appointment than do that.
Does it hurt?
Less than people expect. Twenty minutes of topical numbing first, then a gel that contains its own anaesthetic. Most people describe pressure and a stinging at the very start, and the whole thing takes about fifteen minutes once you are numb.
Nobody here will tell you it is painless. It is short and it is manageable, and you can stop at any point.
How long will I be swollen?
Two to three days for the visible part, fourteen days to be truly settled. Day two is the worst and it is genuinely alarming if nobody warned you, which is why this is written here rather than buried.
Plan around it. Do not do this the week of a wedding, and do not do it two days before photographs.
What if I hate it?
It comes out. Hyaluronidase dissolves hyaluronic acid filler in a single appointment and your lips return to where they started, usually within a week. It is free if Camille placed it.
You are not stuck with a decision you made on a Tuesday.
Can I get half a syringe?
Yes, and for a lot of first appointments it is the right call. It is priced at half, $375, and the rest of the syringe is not kept for later or shared with anybody else.
Camille suggests it fairly often for people who have never had filler and want to see what a small change feels like before committing to a full one.
